Switches of various types actuate individual consumers either directly or via relays. Sometimes a defective switch leads to a malfunction of an electrical system. To check the functioning of the switches, it is best to use a test lamp with a needle probe.
1. Find the appropriate circuit diagram.
2. First determine which wires are supplying power. To do this, pierce the wire insulation with a needle probe of a control lamp.
3. Check if power is being supplied to the switch at all. To do this, as a rule, it is necessary to turn on the ignition or lighting.
4. Turn on the switch. Check if there is voltage after the switch.
