Most of the measuring points in the car are controlled by electronic design elements. This makes the driver's job easier, since he only has to monitor a few indicators and signaling devices. However, these parts must be constantly in your field of vision, and malfunction indications should be taken seriously. For example, if one of the signaling devices suddenly lights up while driving, this is usually an alarm signal.
The 20 symbols shown in the figure should be known in order to understand the warning signals, and also to know which switch to turn on in a given case. On the instrument panel, depending on the equipment of the car, there are a number of other pictograms, with the help of which, first of all, various warning lights are indicated. To avoid serious damage, pay attention to these indicators.
These are the signs you need to know: 1 - Brake system malfunction, 2 - Fog light, 3 - Hazard warning light system, 4 - Instrument lighting, 5 - High beam, 6 - Rear fog light, 7 - Windscreen wiper and washer, 8 - Rear window washer, 9 - Main lighting switch, 10 - Rear window defroster, 11 - Headlight cleaner, 12 - Searchlight, 13 - Windscreen washer, 14 - Interior lighting, 15 - Windscreen defroster, 16 - Work light, 17 - Windscreen wiper, 18 - Fan/heater, 19 - Mirror defroster, 20 - Flashing beacons.
Low oil pressure indicator and brake system malfunction indicator
If the low oil pressure indicator starts flashing while driving, stop the car immediately, turn off the engine and check the oil level. The indicator may light up due to a malfunction or a drop in the oil level. In the event of a malfunction, the engine should not run even idling. Contact a specialist.
If the brake system malfunction indicator is flashing, it may be caused by the following reasons. If the brake fluid level is low, it is necessary to top up the fluid. If there is something wrong with the anti-lock braking system, differential lock, traction control system or vehicle stability control system, the corresponding malfunction should be corrected immediately. First of all, tighten the handbrake.
Sensors, wires and switches
The control systems themselves also do not always work smoothly. Sometimes sensors and wires are damaged, and from time to time one or another switch fails. If, for example, you notice that several devices are giving incorrect readings at once, then the cause is probably a faulty voltage regulator, which in this case gives too high or too low a voltage.
