The combined instrument cluster contains a microprocessor in which the input values for the instrument cluster are stored. These values can only be read out using the VAS 5051 diagnostic device. After the combined instrument cluster has been installed, these values are entered into it again. In essence, therefore, the instrument cluster must be replaced in a workshop. However, for the sake of completeness, we describe here how the instrument cluster is replaced. Incidentally, the previously mentioned front end hook 3370 is also required here.
1. Dismantling: Pull the steering wheel completely out together with the adjuster and move it downwards. Then dismantle the steering wheel.
2. Pull down cover 1 at the bottom of the combination instrument (arrows).

3. Remove the screws (arrows)

4. Using special tool 3370, pull the combination instrument forward.

5. Release the locking clip (arrow) and remove the connector.
To remove the connector, you need to release the locking bracket
6 In the cup-shaped recess, two pads A and B for multi-pin connectors are visible (32 contacts). Block A is white, B is blue.

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. After installation, the device must be checked for proper operation. If the device is working properly, the input values must be entered into it using VAS 5051.
