Side antennas
8. On Sedan models and some Avant models, a ribbon type antenna is built into the rear window heating element - the top three strips form a medium and long wave antenna (AM) and do not heat up. The remaining elements are heated and simultaneously serve as VHF (FM) antenna. Both antennas are installed on high-end Avant models; the audio system contains a switching unit that automatically selects the most suitable antenna depending on the received frequency. To improve radio reception, an antenna amplifier is installed, which can be mounted under the trim of the rear shelf, behind the side upholstery panel, behind the fifth door upholstery panel or behind the pillar trim "D" depending on the model. Repair of damage to the antenna elements must be entrusted to the specialists of the dealer car service or radio workshop.
