Engine letter designations and its number
Engine letter designations are information that is almost always asked when purchasing spare parts. Sometimes the engine number is also of interest (in case of changes during production).
Vehicle information carrier
Under the boot mat there is a white sticker on which all the data that is important, for example, when buying spare parts is printed, these are:
- vehicle identification number;
- engine letter designation;
- gearbox letter designation;
- number of paint used;
- numbers of additional equipment.
A copy of this sticker is also located in the service manual in the vehicle's documentation pocket (operating instructions, etc.).
First: The letter designations (arrow) in the four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters are stamped at the front left on the cylinder head.
Second: the entire engine number (the "magnifying glass" in the photo) is located on all four-cylinder engines in a hard-to-reach place on the left side at the top of the engine block.


First: In a six-cylinder engine, the letter designation and number can be read after removing the cover on the right front of the engine (arrow). If necessary, remove rust.
Second: the vehicle information carrier (arrow) is glued to the side in the spare wheel niche.
