- On the menu "Car＞Systeme＞Fahrzeug-ID-Nummer" mMI display;
- On the floor of the luggage compartment, to the right of the spare wheel niche (see illustration 1), on models with a wheel repair kit, the kit must be removed to access the VIN;
1. VIN in the luggage compartment.
- On the vehicle data sticker (see below);
- On the nameplate (under the hood, not on all models).
The vehicle data sticker is located on the floor of the luggage compartment, to the left of the spare wheel well (see illustration 2a), and also in the service booklet included with the vehicle. Assigning label fields (see illustration 2b) also indicated next to the sticker in the service book.

2a. Sticker with vehicle data in the luggage compartment.
2b. Vehicle data sticker fields:
1 - VIN;
2 - Designation (4LB) and name (Q7 quat. TDI 3.0 V6) models, engine power (kW), AT type (Ab), month/year of production (12/10);
3 - Engine and transmission codes;
4 - Paint number/identification number of interior trim and equipment;
5 - 3-digit PR numbers of additional equipment;
6 - Data on the actual kerb weight (A, kg), fuel consumption (l/100 km: city (B)/extra-urban (C)/combined (D)) and CO₂ emissions (E, g/km).
The VIN number consists of 17 characters, its decoding is given below in the example:

- 1-3. Worldwide manufacturer code (WAU - Germany, Audi).
- 4-6. Filler characters (always "Z").

- 10. Model year (5 - 2005; 6 - 2006;... A - 2010; In - 2011;...).
- 11. Location of production.
- 12-17. 6-digit body number.
