To prevent damage to wires and devices due to short circuits and overloads, individual current circuits are protected by fuses. Fuses are used according to the latest technical achievements. They are equipped with blade contacts so that old fuses cannot be reused.
The fuses are located in the fuse box, which is located on the left rear in the engine compartment.
Before replacing a fuse, be sure to switch off the corresponding consumer.
Open the fuse box cover by pressing both brackets forward down.
A blown fuse can be detected by a burnt metal strip.
Remove the defective fuse with plastic tweezers -A- located on the cover.
Insert a new fuse of the same amperage.
If a newly inserted fuse blows after a short time, the corresponding current circuit must be checked.
Under no circumstances should the fuse be replaced with a wire or the like, as this could cause serious damage to the power supply system.
It is recommended to keep spare fuses in the car at all times. There is a special place in the cover of the fuse box for storing them.
The rated current of the fuse is stamped on the back of the fuse handle. In addition, the handle has a color designation by which you can determine the current strength for which the fuse is designed. A = fusible thread.
Close the fuse box cover.
