Steering wheel — removal and installation (Audi 80 B3)

1. Remove the horn button from the center of the steering wheel by first releasing the top and then the base of the button (photo). Do this carefully, otherwise the plastic catches may break.



2. Disconnect the horn wiring and remove the connector.

3. Set the front wheels straight ahead, place the turn signal lever in the "neutral" position.

4. Mark the position of the steering wheel and inner column relative to each other, then loosen and remove the lock nut and washer (photo).







5. Remove the steering wheel from the inner grooves of the column (photo). If it is jammed, pull it slightly, while rocking it from side to side.





6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Align the previously made marks, tighten the lock nut with the tightening force specified Specification. Make sure the turn signal lever is in the "neutral" position, otherwise the switch lever may be damaged.
