Accessory drive chain
2. Remove the timing chain and both of its upper guides (see Section 29).
3. Lock the fuel injection pump sprocket with the T40245 tool (see illustration).
30.3. Fixing the fuel injection pump sprocket.
4. Wrap the 3.3mm drill bit with electrical tape to prevent cutting yourself. Press the tensioner bar in the direction of the arrow (see illustration) and lock the tensioner by inserting the prepared drill (2).
30.4. Removing the auxiliary chain tension bar.
Unscrew the bolt (1) and remove the tensioner bar.
5. Remove the bolts (1-3 in the illustration), remove the auxiliary chain tensioner and the chain itself.
30.5. Removing the auxiliary chain.
6. Before installation, make sure that the crankshaft is locked at TDC with locking pin No. 3242 (see illustration 29.24), and the fuel injection pump sprocket is blocked by the T40245 device (see illustration 30.3). Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Balance shaft
7. Remove the timing chain (see Section 29).
8. Lock the balance shaft (3 in illustration 29.45) from its rear side, inserting device No. 3359. Then unscrew the bolts (2) and remove the sprocket (1) from the balancer.
9. Unscrew the bolt (see illustration) on the front side of the shaft and remove the balancer from it.
30.9. Front balancer mounting bolt.
10. Loosen the nut on the back of the shaft (see illustration) and remove the rear balancer.
30.10. Rear balancer mounting nut.
11. Remove the bolts (see illustration) and remove the balance shaft carrier plate.
30.11. Bolts for fastening the bearing plate.
Pull the balance shaft out of the cylinder block towards the rear.
12. If necessary, after removing the balance shaft, its bearings can be replaced using a suitable puller and support sleeve. Install the shaft bearings flush with the cylinder block.
