Remove the oil dipstick. Remove the oil pan. Remove the cover from the vibration damper. Using a bent spanner -1 - turn the crankshaft on the vibration damper in the direction of engine rotation -arrow- until the crankshaft returns to position "VMG.
Release the brackets -arrows- and remove the toothed belt protective cover. Risk of damage due to toothed belt jumping. Turn the crankshaft only in the direction of engine rotation. Secure the camshaft hub using the diesel direct injection pump locking pin. engine -3359-. -Arrows- ignore.
Loosen the bolts in the sequence -6...1-.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the balancer shaft module with the oil pump.
