Table of contents: Removal the tire pressure monitoring… ↓ Installation ↓
If the vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure indicator, this is indicated by the corresponding kit code on the vehicle data plate or in the ELSA system, in the special instructions for this model, in the document with the "vehicle parameters". The tire pressure monitoring system checks the pressure in 4 wheels while driving. Damaged tire pressure sensors must be replaced for safety reasons. Do not clean tire pressure sensors with steam or high-pressure air jets. For safety reasons, replace the tire pressure sensor and clean the rim after using tire sealant. The tire pressure monitoring system consists of a control unit, a central antenna integrated in the control unit, and a tire pressure sensor on each of the drive wheels. If the position of the wheels on the vehicle is changed, wheels or tire pressure sensors are replaced, or the tire pressure is changed, the control unit must be re-adjusted. If a wheel with tire pressure sensors is replaced (winter/summer tires), it is necessary to check the pressure and reconfigure the sensor in the control unit.

The error log memory may contain entries when: a system failure occurs; not all wheels with tire pressure sensors are installed. When tires are installed without or with the wrong tire pressure sensors. (In this case, the yellow "System fault icons" indicator light comes on in the instrument cluster and cannot be deactivated via the system.) The system has recognized new sensors, although the button on the control panel of the multimedia system "E380" for setting the current tire pressure values has not been pressed. (In this case, the system error can be cleared by pressing the button).

If the position of the wheels in the car has been changed, the wheels or air pressure sensors have been replaced; in the tires, or the tire pressure has changed, the control unit must be re-adapted; 4. Used tire pressure monitoring systems "J502". In case of replacement of the control unit of the tire pressure monitoring system "J502", re-coding of the system is necessary

Removal the tire pressure monitoring system control unit "J502"

Used tire pressure monitoring "J502" is located in the front right footwell, under the dashboard. Before removing the tire pressure monitoring system control unit "J502", perform the "Replace control unit" function in the Guided Fault Finding mode. Remove the glove box. Remove the door sill trim. With the help of a 2nd mechanic, carefully bend the floor covering to the side. Turn the insulating mat "arrow" upwards.
