Removal
Attention. The description applies to front-wheel drive vehicles. Due to the different design of the rear suspension, the parking brake cables are located differently in all-wheel drive vehicles. However, in principle, removal and installation are carried out in the same way.
Use paint to mark the position of the wheel relative to the hub. This is necessary to reinstall the wheel in its original position, which maintains its balance.
With the vehicle standing on its wheels, loosen the rear wheel mounting bolts.
Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands, remove the bolts and remove the wheels.
Remove the front section of the heat shield.
Unscrew the nuts and move the main section of the heat shield forward (see fig. 11.24).

Loosen the parking brake cables as follows.
- Remove clamp D (fig. 11.25).
- Turn the adjusting sleeve C to the stop A, while holding the flange of the adjusting sleeve E with a 13 mm wrench.
- Slide the parking brake cable housings.

Remove the clip securing the parking brake cable housing to the rear brake caliper (see fig. 11.26).

Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake lever on the caliper, being careful not to damage the parking brake boot.
Release the parking brake cables from the clips on the rear suspension beam (see fig. 11.27).

Unscrew the nuts and remove the rear muffler heat shield (see fig. 11.28).

Use a screwdriver blade to open the retainer and remove the parking brake cable (see fig. 11.29).

Using a screwdriver, remove the parking brake cable from the console (see fig. 11.30).

Remove the rear section of the center console.
Using a screwdriver, push the parking brake rollers towards the lever through the hole in the base of the parking brake lever and push the head out of the holder (see fig. 11.31).

Remove the parking brake cables.
Installation
If present, remove any non-reusable plastic parts from the parking brake cable compensator.
Secure the compensator using a size 2 screwdriver (fig. 11.19), so that he doesn't turn.
Through the console, insert the ball head into the parking brake cable compensator.
Secure the parking brake cable to the console.
Attach the parking brake cable to the calipers and secure them with clamps.
Secure the parking brake cable to the holders on the rear beam.
Install the rear part of the center console.
Replace and screw the heat shield into place around the rear muffler.
Screw on the heat shield.
Apply a thin layer of grease to the flange that centers the wheel disc. Install the wheel, aligning the previously applied marks, and secure it with bolts. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the wheel mounting bolts to a torque of 120 Nm.
All-wheel drive vehicles
Loosen the parking brake cable adjusters. The adjusters are located in front of the rear lower control arms.
Release the parking brake cable.
Unscrew the bolts and release the parking brake cable from the holders on the rear beam.
Using pliers, squeeze the spring clip and remove the parking brake cable from the lever (see fig. 11.33).

Unscrew and remove the heat shield (see fig. 11.34).

Unscrew the nuts and release the parking brake cables from the holders on the bottom of the car (see fig. 11.35).
