The gearbox code is indicated on the manufacturer's plate and is also stamped on the gearbox housing (see illustrations 1.0a, 1.0b).
The transmission of engine torque to the gearbox is carried out by means of transmission fluid.
The engine drives the pump impeller in the torque converter (hydraulic transformer). From the torque converter pump, the automatic transmission fluid flows to the turbine wheel connected to the gearbox, setting it in motion. The pump impeller and the turbine wheel rotate at different speeds. When starting off, this difference in the number of revolutions is maximum, and as the speed increases, the difference becomes minimal (see illustration 1.0v).
