Removal
Attention! The procedure for removing and installing the rear brake pads with this type of caliper is identical to the procedure for the C38 caliper. For this reason, only the differences that do exist are listed below.
1. Lock the brake disc with wheel bolt 1 and unscrew both caliper mounting bolts, holding the guide pins from turning with a second spanner (see illustration).

2. Remove the caliper and, without disconnecting the brake hose, secure it to the body with wire.
3. Remove the brake pads and remove the holders that secure the brake pads in the guide.
Installation
4. Screw the piston into the cylinder using the special tool AUDI-3272 (see illustration).

5. Install the brake shoe holders into the guide (see illustration).

7. Make sure the brake pads are secured in the holders (see arrows in the illustration).

8. Reinstall the caliper and secure it with new self-locking bolts to a tightening torque of 35 Nm, holding the guide pins from turning.
Please note: The repair kit includes four self-locking hex head bolts, which are designed to replace the old caliper mounting bolts.
9. Depress the brake pedal to seat the new pads and check the brake fluid level.
