Cylinder head bolt tightening sequence
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine top cover. Raise and secure the front of the vehicle.
3. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.
4. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold.
5. Remove the exhaust manifold.
6. Drain the coolant.
7. Disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control mechanism.
8. Remove the intake manifold.
9. Unscrew the spark plugs.
10. Remove the ignition distributor.
11. Remove the timing belt.
12. Remove the camshaft sprocket and tensioner, disconnect the rear belt cover from the head.
13. Remove the camshaft cover. Remove the brake vacuum pump and piston on the left side of the head.
14. Disconnect the required fuel hoses.
15. Disconnect all wires that interfere with the removal of the cylinder head.
16. Unscrew the head bolts in the reverse order of tightening (see fig. Cylinder head bolt tightening sequence).
17. Remove the head.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The figure shows the guide pins necessary for the correct installation of the head.
