Service intervals are displayed on the digital display located on the instrument panel for 5 seconds after the ignition is turned on.

Thanks to the use of a special, ageing-resistant oil, engine service intervals have been increased.

The driver is warned 2000 km or one month before the service deadline by an indicator message "SERVICE IN 2000 km xxx TAGEN" ("SERVICE AFTER 2000 km xxx DAYS") after each ignition switch-on. The remaining mileage before the service can be called up at any time on the indicator after pressing the key (1).

The driver is warned 2000 km or one month before the service deadline by an indicator message…

When the service period comes, the message "SERVICE!" appears. After this, it is necessary to carry out the service.

After servicing, the indicator must be reset for a new countdown. This is done using the VAG-1551 or VAS-5051 device.

If, during maintenance or repair, oil that does not comply with the Longlife VW/AUDI standards is poured into the engine, it is necessary to switch the system from the "flexible" to the "rigid" maintenance schedule. According to the rigorous schedule, maintenance is performed every 15,000 km or 12 months. The maintenance indicator is switched using the dashboard buttons.

Warning: To maintain flexible service schedule, the indicator must be reset using the VW/AUDI diagnostic tool (work of the service station).

Warning: AUDI service stations additionally, during each inspection, interrogate the fault memory of the electronic control units of the engine, ABS, airbag and anti-theft lock using the VAG-1551 device. Therefore, it is advisable to visit the service station at regular intervals, even if the maintenance is carried out on your own. The fault memory is interrogated by connecting to the diagnostic connector. In this case, you can also reset the service life indicator if necessary.

Resetting the maintenance interval indicator after performing maintenance

Possibly with the help of a key located in the dashboard. In this way the maintenance interval indicator switches from a "flexible" schedule to a "rigid" one.

Switching to a rigid service interval schedule:

1. Make sure the ignition is off, turn off the ignition if necessary.

2. Press and hold the key (1).

3. While holding the key down, turn on the ignition without starting the engine.

4. After releasing the key, a message appears on the display "SERVICE IN???? km" ("SERVICE IN???? km") or "SERVICE!".

5. Keep the reset key (2) pressed until the message "SERVICE IN - - - -Tagen" ("SERVICE IN —— days") or "SERVICE!" will not disappear.

Warning: If the key is not pressed within 5 seconds, the reset mode will automatically turn off.

6. Turn off the ignition.

Warning: Only reset the service interval indicator immediately after performing a service, otherwise it will result in erroneous messages.
