It's a different matter if you see obvious oil stains in the engine compartment or under a parked car. The cause of such stains must be determined immediately: a leaky engine is a sign of a technical defect that may soon worsen. It's best to wash the engine, take it for a test drive, and then inspect it carefully.
1. To check the tightness of the lubrication system, first remove the top engine cover (see the chapter "Engine"),
2. Remove the soundproof cover under the engine.
3. Check the following areas: oil filler cap seal, crankcase ventilation hose (from the valve box cover to the suction hose), valve cover gasket, cylinder head gasket, oil drain plug, oil filter, oil pan gasket and radial seals of the camshaft and crankshaft.
