Another thing is if you see obvious oil stains in the engine compartment or under a parked car. The cause of such spots must be established immediately: a leaky engine is a sign of a technical defect that may soon worsen. Your best bet is to wash the engine, test drive it, and then inspect it carefully.
1. To check the density of the lubrication system, first remove the engine top cover (see chapter «Engine»),
2. Remove the soundproof cover under the engine.
3. Check the following points: oil filler cap seal, crankcase ventilation hose (from valve box cover to suction hose), valve cover seal, cylinder head seal, oil drain plug, oil filter, oil pan seal, and camshaft and crankshaft radial seals.
