Below is a description of how to test the injectors using proprietary special tools and equipment. The measuring cup and auxiliary measuring devices, wire, crocodile clips, etc. can be replaced with other suitable means, but the VAG 1598/31 test device must be available. The fuel pressure must be normal during the test. If necessary, check the fuel supply regulator and residual pressure. Remove the fuel distributor with the injectors built into it from the intake manifold. Do not disconnect the fuel hoses.
Connect the VAG 1598/31 tester to the wiring harness that goes to the engine control unit. The control unit is not connected.
