Audi has a heating system with adjustable air flow. If the heating regulator is turned to the right, the damper opens the way for the air to flow through the heat exchanger. This is a small heating element through which coolant heated by the engine constantly flows. If the heating is turned off, then it is not the flow of hot liquid that is blocked, but air flows into the passenger compartment through another channel, bypassing the heat exchanger.
