The body is a steel, all-welded construction, heavily treated on all sides for effective corrosion protection. All panels are galvanized and hot wax is injected into the internal cavities.
Some models are equipped with the Procon-Ten protection system. The system uses steel cables connected to the front seat belt reels and steering column. In the event of a severe frontal collision, the engine and transmission will move backwards. Since the cables are routed around the rear of the transmission, this causes the front seat belt reels and steering column to move forward. This provides an additional seatbelt holder and also moves the steering column away from the driver.
