Set the heater control knob to the extreme right position.
Shine the cap from the radiator 1 or the cap from the expansion tank, relieving excess pressure in the cooling system.
Unscrew the bot to remove air from the cooling system (see photo).
Drain the coolant by disconnecting the two hoses from the water pump.
On engines without an expansion tank, to fill the system with coolant, proceed as follows:
- set the heater control knob to the extreme right position;
- pour coolant into the radiator until it comes out from under the air bleed bolt;
- tighten the bolt to bleed air from the cooling system,
- add fluid to the system until the radiator is completely filled;
- put the radiator cap in place;
- Let the engine run until the cooling fan turns on.
On engines with an expansion tank, to fill the system with coolant, proceed as follows:
- set the heater control knob to the extreme right position,
- pour coolant into the expansion tank until it exits from under the air bleed bolt;
- tighten the bolt to remove air from the cooling system;
- add fluid to the expansion tank to a level 2 cm above the mark «MIN»;
- put the plug of the expansion tank in place;
- let the engine run until the electric fan of the cooling system is turned on;
- check fluid level and top up if necessary.
On a hot engine, the coolant level should be slightly above the mark «MIN» on the expansion tank, on a cold one - approximately at the mark level «MIN».
