Withdrawal
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals.
Remove the horn switch trim by hand.
If necessary, disconnect the jumper to ground from the horn bar.
Loosen the steering wheel nut and shine the steering wheel.
Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the mounting clamp bolt.
Remove contact ring. Remove steering column switches. Using a lever, remove the set washer, then remove the spring.
Remove the anti-theft device housing.
Remove the lower trim of the instrument panel, then unscrew the bolts securing the steering shaft tube. To remove the self-locking bolt, pierce its head with a 8.5 mm drill.
After unscrewing the clamping bolt of the terminal connection, remove the steering shaft and pipe assembly.
Installation
When disassembling and assembling the steering shaft, correctly connect the upper and lower shafts, as shown in the photo. The lower shaft moves up to the stop on the upper one.
Install the steering shaft in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- when installing the steering shaft tube, tighten the self-locking bolt until the head breaks, then tighten the cylinder head bolt;
- before installing the steering shaft into the pipe, push the rubber support ring onto the shaft until it stops, then insert the shaft into the pipe until it stops;
- tighten the screws for fastening the drive unit housing after pressing it until it stops on the steering shaft tube;
- replace the set spring;
- be sure to center the switch of direction indicators and headlights in order to prevent damage to the drive cam by the tongue of the slip ring when installing the steering wheel;
- steering wheel install, pre-positioning | front wheels in the position of rectilinear movement;
- replace all self-locking nuts with new ones;
- observe the tightening torques of the screwed connections.
