Adjusting the gap between the stop and the rack (Audi 80 B2)

Set the front wheels to the straight ahead position.

Loosen the lock nut (see photo) from the adjusting bolt 2 on the rack stop cover. Carefully tighten the adjusting bolt until it touches the support washer.



Tighten lock nut 1 in this position.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the adjustment.

Check the operation of the steering control by test driving and, if necessary, adjust the gap between the stop and the rack.
