
Remove the hood. If available, unfasten the bracket. Remove the engine cover "arrows". Remove the noise insulation located underneath, to do this, remove the crankcase ventilation hose.

Disconnect the glow plug connectors "2". Pull out the release pin and unscrew the knurled nut "3" of the central connector of the pump-injector module. Disregard other "pos.".

Unscrew all glow plugs with the 3220 articulated wrench. Screw on the adapter "V.A.G 1381/12" in place of the glow plug in the corresponding cylinder. Check the compression with a compression gauge "V.A.G 1763". The second mechanic must turn the engine with the starter until the pressure on the instrument scale stops increasing.

Installation
Performed in reverse order, it is necessary to install the glow plugs. Finally, interrogate the fault memory of the engine control unit and clear it, since errors were entered into it due to disconnection of the plug connectors. Tightening torque: Engine compartment cover to bracket: 5.5 Nm.
