2. Fully raise and extend the steering column. Turn on the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable (see Chapter 5).
3. When setting the steering wheel to a comfortable position, remove the plugs from both sides (6 in illustration 14.1a of Chapter 9) and loosen the Torx bolts (2) located behind them. Return the steering wheel to its original position.
4. Discharge yourself from static electricity by touching a ground point on the body with your bare hand. Pull the airbag slightly away from the steering wheel.
5. Pull the latch (4 in the illustration) in the direction of the arrow until it stops to unlock the connector (2), and then disconnect the connector.

Remove the airbag and, if present, disconnect the connector (3). Place the airbag face up.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The airbag mounting bolts should first be tightened 2 turns, then the horn operation should be checked three times, and only then tightened to 7 Nm.
