Disconnect the electrical connector -1- of the radiator fan, push the locking pin backwards -arrow- and press the lock downwards. Release the wiring harness.
Install a device for pumping out and collecting oil under the disconnection point. Unscrew bolts -arrows- and disconnect ATF lines from radiator. To prevent ATF oil from leaking, secure the ATF lines to the side member. To prevent the penetration of dirt, seal the disconnected lines and pipes on the intercooler with a clean plug from the engine plug set -VAS 6122-.
Unscrew bolts -1- and -2-, remove the sound insulation screen of the bumper trim towards the rear.
To remove the spacer clip -arrows-, carefully press the clamping pin -1- by dimension -x- until you hear an audible click into the spacer clip -arrow A-. Dimension -x- = 5 mm. Remove the unlocked spacer clip -2- with the clamping pin.
Unscrew bolts -arrows-. Remove the air duct -1- from the intermediate flange -2- of the air housing. filter.
Use a screwdriver -1- to unlock the lock -arrow A-. Detach air intake grille -2- from bumper trim -arrow B-. Repeat the entire process of performing work on the other side of the vehicle.
Detach upper air duct -1- by releasing fastenings -arrows-.
Unlock the mounting brackets -arrows A- and tilt the air duct -1- on the left and right towards the center of the vehicle -arrow B-.
Remove the connecting piece from the radiator by unclamping the clamp -1 - and loosening the hose clamp -2-.
Unlock both radiator mounting bolts on the right and left and pull them upward -arrows-. Remove the radiator from the top towards the front.
Simultaneously press in the fastening tabs of the fan frame -arrow- on the right and left and remove the fan frame from the radiator upwards.
Installation
Install in reverse order. Hose fittings, air pipes and hoses must be cleaned of oil and grease before installation. Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the appropriate series. Install the air duct onto the intermediate flange of the air housing. filter. Install the radiator frame trim and the sound insulation screen of the bumper trim. Tighten the ATF line bolts. Fill with coolant. Check ATF level.
