Left timing chain cover. Bolt tightening sequence and torque
Replace the left timing chain cover bolts. Tighten the bolts in sequence "1...8" in 2 stages as follows:
- 1. Tighten to 5 Nm.
- 2. Turn 90° further.
Right timing chain cover. Bolt tightening sequence and torque
Replace the right timing chain cover bolts. Tighten the bolts in sequence "1...8" in 2 stages as follows:
- 1. Tighten to torque 5 Nm.
- 2. Turn 90° further.
Lower timing chain cover. Bolt tightening sequence and torque
Tighten the bolts in 6 stages as follows:
- 1. Insert the arrow bolts and pre-tighten to 5 Nm.
- 2. Tighten bolts "1...10" crosswise to a torque of 9 Nm.
- 3. Tighten the arrow bolts to 9 Nm.
- 4. Tighten bolts "8,9,10" to 22 Nm.
- 5. Tighten bolt "3" to 16 Nm.
- 6. Tighten bolt "6" to 70 Nm.
