Remove the water drain box cover. Disconnect the connector of the brake fluid low level warning sensor "F34". Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. The brake fluid reservoir cap is not installed on all vehicle models. To protect against escaping brake fluid, it is sufficient to place a lint-free rag under the brake master cylinder. Pump out as much brake fluid as possible using the "VAS 5234" brake system bleeding unit and an adapter "VAS 5234/1" from the brake fluid reservoir. On a vehicle with a manual transmission, remove the hydraulic line "5" of the clutch from the brake fluid reservoir and close the line. Remove the lower locking pin from the brake fluid reservoir. Remove the brake fluid reservoir from the brake master cylinder.

Installation

Remove the dust cover from the new brake fluid reservoir immediately before filling the reservoir. Moisten the plug on the reservoir with a small amount of brake fluid. Insert the reservoir into the brake master cylinder seal. Press the lower locking pin into the brake fluid reservoir. Connect the connector of the low brake fluid level warning sensor "F34".
  • On vehicles with manual transmission: connect hydraulic line "5" of the clutch to the brake fluid reservoir. Fill with brake fluid up to the mark. Bleed the brake system.
  • On a car with a manual transmission: bleed the clutch. Install the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. Install the cover of the water drainage box.
