Remove the plenum chamber lining. Remove the brace. Remove the plenum chamber wall. To protect against escaping brake fluid, simply place a lint-free cloth under the master brake cylinder. Pump out as much brake fluid as possible using the VAS 5234 brake system bleeding unit from the brake fluid reservoir. Remove the brake fluid reservoir. Unscrew brake lines "2" from the master brake cylinder, close the lines with plugs from the repair kit. Unscrew fastening nuts "3" of the master brake cylinder.

Remove the brake master cylinder from the brake booster. Remove the brake master cylinder from the car. Brake fluid must not get into the brake booster.

Installation



Installation in reverse order. Install a new sealing ring between the master cylinder and the brake booster. When installing the master cylinder, ensure that the pressure rod is correctly positioned in the brake booster. Lightly press the brake pedal, this will facilitate installation of the pressure rod in the master cylinder. Screw in and tighten the new nuts "3". Observe the tightening torque. Screw the brake line "2" to the master cylinder. Observe the tightening torque. Install the brake fluid reservoir "1".

  • On vehicles with manual transmission: insert hydraulic line "5" of the clutch into the brake fluid reservoir. Fill with brake fluid up to the mark. Bleed the brake system.
  • On a car with a manual transmission: bleed the clutch. Install the water drain box wall. Install the tensioner. Install the water drain box cover.
