Replacing guide pins and protective caps (Audi Q5-8R)

If the protective caps or guide pins are damaged, install the repair kit. When installing the guide pins, use the supplied tube of grease. Unscrew the bolts "1" on the brake caliper. Remove the brake caliper.

Do not hang the brake caliper from the brake hose, but secure it to the body with a suitable cable tie or wire. Do not load the brake hose with the weight of the brake caliper. Remove the protective cap "9" from the groove on the brake bracket. Remove the guide pin "8" from the brake bracket. Remove the protective cap from the guide pin.

Installation



Before installing the guide pin, apply grease to it. Put the protective cap on the guide pin groove. Pass the guide pin "8" together with the protective cap "9" through the brake bracket. Put the protective cap on the brake bracket groove. Insert the brake caliper. Screw in and tighten the bolts "1".
