Removal the rear brake caliper piston (Audi Q5-8R)

Unscrew the piston from the brake caliper as far as possible. Press the piston out of the brake caliper housing with compressed air. When removing, do not damage the surface of the cylinder. Place a wooden panel underneath to avoid damaging the piston.



Using wedge "3409" remove the old cuff seal from the brake caliper.

Installation

Install a new lip seal in the brake caliper. Place a new protective cap on the brake cylinder piston as shown in the figure.



Tighten the clamping nut to size "a" 15 mm.





Install the protective cap into the groove on the brake caliper. Use wedge "3409" for this. Carefully push the brake cylinder piston into the brake caliper.



At the same time, move the brake cylinder piston. The brake cylinder piston must be mounted on the clamping nut, this is only possible in 4 positions. Press the brake cylinder piston after it is positioned on the clamping nut until it stops in the brake caliper.



Be careful not to damage the clamping nut. Turn the clamping nut clockwise until it stops.





Make sure that the rubber ring fits around the entire perimeter of the torm body. "strelka" calipers.



Press the pistons into the brake caliper by hand.



In this case, the inner working edge of the protective cap is installed in the groove in the piston.
