Vacuum pumps 1. Bolt 2x Torx 30.9 Nm. Unscrew to remove the pump. The pump cannot be further disassembled; 2. Vacuum pump; 3. Vacuum hose. Removing the diesel vacuum pump. 3.0 l TDI engine
Replace gaskets. The vacuum pump is installed on the right bank of cylinders in the rear direction of travel -arrow-.
Carefully remove the engine cover sequentially from the mounting bolts. Remove the right diagonal brace. Loosen the vacuum hose clamps.
Remove vacuum hose -1- from pump -3-.
Do not disconnect the vacuum hose on the front wall of the plenum chamber -2-. Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. A damaged vacuum line must be replaced. Remove all bolts -arrows- seal. vacuum pump flange. Remove the vacuum pump from the mounting.
Installation
Replace gaskets. Check that the gaskets are in the correct position during installation. Rotate the vacuum pump grip so that it fits into the camshaft groove when installing the pump. Install the vacuum pump. Screw in all bolts -arrows- seal. vacuum pump flange and tighten them (9 Nm). Install a new hose clamp onto the vacuum hose. Attach the vacuum hose to the vacuum pump connection. Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. A damaged vacuum line must be replaced. Clamp the new clamp onto the vacuum hose using suitable pliers. Install the right diagonal brace. Install the engine cover.
Removing the vacuum pump 2.0 l diesel. TDI engine
The vacuum pump is installed in the motor. compartment towards the rear in the direction of travel -arrow-. Remove the engine cover. Do not remove the front wall of the drainage box. Unscrew the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor -1- from the bracket. Unlock line -2- on pressure sensor and carefully press to one side.
Unscrew the double clamp of the bracket. Unscrew the pressure sensor bracket from the vacuum pump, 2 nuts. There are 2 nuts under the pressure sensor bracket, which should also be unscrewed. Remove the coolant pipe from the vacuum pump stud and push it to the side. Remove the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump. Remove all seal bolts. vacuum pump flange. Remove the vacuum pump from the mounting.
Installation
Replace gaskets. Check that the gaskets are in the correct position during installation. Rotate the vacuum pump drive so that it fits into the camshaft groove when installing. Installing a vacuum pump. Screw in all bolts on the vacuum pump sealing flange and tighten them. Screw in the 2 nuts under the pressure sensor bracket and tighten. Install a new hose clamp onto the vacuum hose. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum pump. Clamp the clamp with suitable pliers. Install the coolant pipe over the vacuum pump studs. Insert the bracket for the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor into the vacuum pump. Screw the bracket. Secure the pressure sensor lines to the bracket. Screw in the pressure sensor. Install the engine cover.
Removing the 4-cyl. vacuum pump Turbo FSI engine
Before removing the vacuum pump, the injection pump must be removed. Do not remove the front wall of the drainage box. The vacuum pump is installed in the motor. compartment towards the rear in the direction of travel -arrow-.
The petrol line is under pressure, do not disconnect it! Carefully remove the engine covers sequentially from the mounting bolts. The vacuum pump is installed on the right side of the engine. compartment back in the direction of travel. Remove the small vacuum hose from the fuel line. Unscrew the fuel line bracket on the vacuum pump and injection pump.
Disconnect plug connector -1-injection pump. Remove the injection pump -2-. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the hose clamp where it is attached to the vacuum pump.
Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. A damaged vacuum line must be replaced. Remove all seal bolts. vacuum pump flange -arrows-.
Do not disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum line -2- on the wall of the plenum chamber. Remove the vacuum pump from the mounting.
Installation
Replace gaskets. Check that the gaskets are in the correct position during installation. Rotate the vacuum pump drive so that it fits into the camshaft groove when installing. Screw in all bolts -arrows-sealing. vacuum pump flange and tighten them. Install a new hose clamp onto the vacuum hose. Install the vacuum hose onto the vacuum pump connection. Squeeze the hose clamp onto the vacuum pump connection using suitable pliers. Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. A damaged vacuum line must be replaced. Install the injection pump. Screw in the fuel line bracket on the vacuum pump and injection pump. Connect a small vacuum hose to the fuel line. Connect the plug connector -1- of the fuel injection pump. Install the engine cover.
