Removal



25. Turn the clamps (see arrows in the illustration) counterclockwise and carefully remove the trim 1.

26. Loosen nut 3 and disconnect the ground (-) wire terminal from the negative battery terminal (see illustration).

27. Lift up protective cover 2, loosen nut 1 of positive potential (+) cable terminal and disconnect terminal from positive battery pole (see illustration 8.26).

28. Disconnect the central battery ventilation hose 4 (see illustration 8.26).

29. Unscrew bolts 5 and 6 securing the battery clamps (see illustration 8.26) and carefully remove the battery from the luggage compartment. The tightening torque of the bolts is 15 Nm.



Installation



The battery, located in the luggage compartment, is installed in the reverse order of removal.

30. Install the battery so that the protrusion on the battery holder fits into the groove at the bottom of the battery case (see arrow in illustration 8.12).

31. Make sure that the hole on the bottom of the battery case is opposite the hole for the mounting bolt (see arrows in illustration 8.13). In this case, the battery is fixed in the tray and will not move.

32. First connect the positive potential (+) wire terminal and then the ground (-) wire terminal to the corresponding battery terminals. The tightening torque of the terminal fastening nuts is 7.5 Nm.
