Removal



18. Turn off the ignition.

19. Raise and secure the luggage compartment floor covering.

20. Unscrew bolt 3 of the spare wheel mounting bracket (see illustration).

21. Remove cover 1 and cover 2, which covers the battery (see illustration 8.20).

22. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal from the negative battery terminal and loosen the positive (+) battery terminal nut.

23. Disconnect the central battery ventilation hose.

24. Unscrew the bolt (see arrow in illustration) battery hold-down bracket and carefully remove the battery from the luggage compartment.
