Attention! The steering column can only be replaced as a set. Its repair is not possible.
Removal
1. Remove the driver's airbag and steering wheel, see the relevant chapter.
2. Unlock the steering column and push it all the way into the passenger compartment.
3. Unscrew bolts 1 and remove handle 2 of the steering column lock (see illustration).

4. Unscrew the two Phillips-head screws (see arrows in the illustration) and remove the upper part 1 of the steering column trim.

5. Unscrew two bolts 2 and bolt 1 and remove the lower part 3 of the steering column trim (see illustration).

6. Disconnect plugs 1 and 3, unscrew bolt 2 and remove steering column switches 4 (see illustration).

7. Release the wires on the steering column from the holders or clamps (see arrows in the illustration).

Attention! On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the gearbox lock rod from the ignition switch.
8. Cars with automatic transmission. Set the automatic transmission control lever to position "P", turn the key in the ignition switch to position "B", press up the stopper 1 and disconnect the locking rod 2 (see illustration).

9. Remove the trim in the footwell on the driver's side.
10. Unscrew nut 1 of the crosspiece clamp bolt on the steering shaft (see illustration). Tightening torque of the nut is 30 Nm.

Attention! The tension bolt is of the eccentric type, therefore, in order to remove it, it is necessary to turn the bolt with a socket wrench (insert T50).
11. Remove the pinch bolt and disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear (see illustration).

12. Unscrew the bolts 1 with a hex key and remove the steering column (see illustration).

Installation
The steering column is installed in the reverse order of its removal.
