1 - contact spring (loop)
2 - steering wheel
3 - steering wheel mounting bolt
4 - plug

2. Align the wheels by setting the steering wheel to neutral position.

Attention! Move the steering column all the way into the passenger compartment and move the steering wheel up.

3. Unscrew the steering wheel mounting bolt 2 (see illustration).

4. Disconnect the plugs 1 (see illustration 9.3).

5. Mark the position of the steering wheel 1 on the shaft and remove it (see illustration 9.3). After removing the steering wheel, do not change the position of the steering column and front wheels.

Installation

6. Install the steering wheel onto the steering shaft splines, keeping the wheel in the neutral position.

Caution: When installing the steering wheel, the front wheels must be aligned for straight-ahead driving and the turn signal switch must be in the middle position.

7. Connect the plugs. They should lock into place with a clearly audible click.

8. Secure the steering wheel with a new socket head bolt, tightening the bolt to 60 Nm.

9. Install the airbag unit on the steering wheel.

10. Take a test drive. While driving, make sure the steering wheel is positioned correctly. When driving straight, the steering wheel spokes should be horizontal.

If the steering wheel is installed incorrectly, it should be removed and repositioned until the desired position is achieved. If necessary, have the wheel alignment checked at a workshop.

11. Check the operation of the horn and ensure that the turn signal switch lever automatically returns to its original position.
