Access to the steering gear is difficult with the engine installed and is difficult to improve.

Removal



1. Remove the front wheels, vacuum booster and hydraulic brake lines that interfere with access to the steering gear.

2. Bend back the trim panel and mark the installation position of the steering column universal joint in relation to the steering gear shaft. Then unscrew the compression nut and remove the bolt.

3. Clamp the hydraulic hoses near the power steering fluid reservoir.



4. Label the hydraulic lines and disconnect them from the steering gear by removing the banjo bolts.

5. Loosen the mounting bolts and disconnect the steering rods.

6. If the vehicle is equipped with the servotronic system, disconnect the system valve connection connector.

7. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the steering gear.

Repair



Inspect the steering gear for wear or damage, check the operation of the rack and pinion mechanism. To repair the steering gear, you must contact specialists.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
