Access to the steering mechanism is difficult when the engine is installed, and it is difficult to improve it.
Withdrawal
1. Remove the front wheels, vacuum booster and brake hydraulic lines that are blocking access to the steering gear.
2. Unfold the trim panel and mark the installation position of the steering column universal joint in relation to the steering shaft. Then unscrew the coupling nut and remove the bolt.
3. Clamp the hydraulic hoses near the reservoir of the power steering system.
4. Mark the hydraulic pipes and disconnect them from the steering gear by unscrewing the banjo connection bolts.
5. Turn off fixing bolts and disconnect steering drafts.
6. If the vehicle has a system "Servotronic", disconnect the system valve connector.
7. Turn off fixing bolts and remove the steering mechanism.
Repair
Inspect steering gear for wear or damage, check rack and pinion operation. To repair the steering mechanism, you must contact a specialist.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
