Caution: The idle speed, CO content and ignition timing must be checked together. Only the CO content and ignition timing can be adjusted. The lambda probe remains connected during the test.
Start the engine and let it idle. The speed should be set to 780-900 rpm.
Check ignition timing, adjust if necessary.
The CO content should be 0.2-1.2% by volume. If the CO content is out of range, it should be set as follows:
Disconnect the crankcase breather hose at the cylinder head.
Connect ammeter with test lead to electro-hydraulic regulator -1-.
Turn on the ignition. The control current must be positive. Otherwise, swap the cables.
Start the engine and let it idle.
Set the control current with the CO adjustment screw -2- to 0-5 mA.
