- 16-point bolt: 180 Nm, 12-point bolt: 90 Nm + ½ turn (180°). The bolt can be tightened in several passes, it is only important to maintain a 180° tightening angle.
- the 12-point bolt must be replaced. For loosening and tightening, use VW-3099 as a holding device against rotation.

20. Generator V-belt. Check tension by pressing with your finger. New belt: deflection about 2 mm; rolled-in belt: deflection about 5 mm.
21. Power steering V-belt. Check tension by pressing with your finger. New belt: deflection about 2 mm; rolled-in belt: deflection about 5 mm.
22. Water pump V-belt. Check the pressure by pressing with your finger. New belt: deflection about 2 mm; rolled-in belt: deflection about 5 mm.
