The ventilation and heating controls are located in the middle of the instrument panel and include (see photo):
  • two levers "A" for adjusting the direction of air flow: the left lever to the feet of passengers and the driver, the right one to the windshield and side windows (when moving the levers to the edges, the air flow increases, to the middle, it weakens);
  • lever "B" for adjusting the air temperature (when moving the lever to the right, the air temperature increases, to the left, it decreases, in the extreme left position, the heater is turned off).

Switch "B" sets one of three rotation speeds of the heater fan.

Air enters the cabin through two nozzles with deflectors on the edges of the instrument panel. The flow direction is adjusted horizontally by the central lever, vertically by moving the deflector plates.

Only cold air comes through two nozzles in the middle of the instrument panel.

To blow air onto the windshield, move lever "A" all the way to the right. This will direct the air to the windshield and side nozzles. Move lever "B" all the way to the right, which corresponds to the maximum air temperature. Switch "B" of the heater fan should be set to the second fixed position, and the knurled handle of the side nozzles should be set to position "3" ("Closed").

To blow the side windows, set the levers "A" and "B" and the heater fan switch as when blowing the windshield. Set the knurled nozzle handle to position "O" ("Open"). Direct the deflector plates toward the side windows.

Air conditioner

Some cars were equipped with an air conditioner as an option. The air conditioner serves to cool the air taken from inside the car at high outside temperatures. The air conditioner fan has four rotation speeds.

To turn on the air conditioner, press the button located above the heater fan switch. The green indicator light in the button lights up.

Set the air distribution levers to the middle position.

Close the heater valve by moving the lever to the extreme left position.

Open the central and side ventilation nozzles, adjust the flow and direction of air supply through them.

Set the heater fan switch to position "4".

If the temperature of the cooled air is excessively low, move the heater control lever slightly to the right and switch the fan to a lower speed.
