Carefully! On vehicles with the Telematic system, before disconnecting the battery, activate the service mode of the Telematic control unit - radio, telephone, navigation.
Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key. Where required, remove the floor from the trunk. Fold the boot floor mat forward. Loosen the nut a few turns and disconnect the pole piece of the Pfeil earth wire from the battery terminal.
Connection
When connecting manually, push the pole piece of the ground wire onto (-) battery pole and tighten the nut. If the wires to the battery terminals are reconnected, the following must be done: Activate vehicle equipment (radio / radio navigation system, clock, power windows) in accordance with the instruction manual; Deactivate the operating mode of the Telematic control unit. Radio, telephone, navigation, self-diagnosis. Check the function of the radio remote control and, if necessary, synchronize the radio code. Inform the customer that the second and additional codes also need to be synchronized to allow remote radio communication. Interrogate the fault memory of all control units and, if necessary, delete the fault message "Unteispannung/Undervoltage".
Instruction. After reconnecting the power supply, the A8S/ESP warning light will only go out after a few meters of travel.
Tightening torque: Battery terminal to terminal: 6 Nm.
