Filling transmission oil into the front final drive after repair (Audi Q5-8R)

The front main gear cover was removed, and because of this all the transmission oil leaked out. Put the car on a lift or in a pit so that it stands horizontally. The transmission oil temperature is about 20?C (room temperature). Place a device for filling and pumping out oil under the gearbox. Unscrew the threaded plug "arrow". Pour transmission oil into the main forward gear slowly and gradually for at least 5 minutes until oil flows out of the inspection hole.



A filling time of at least 5 minutes is necessary to allow internal equalization of oil levels between the differential and reservoir spaces. The threaded plug with the sealing ring should be replaced. Tighten the new threaded plug. A final check of the filling level is not required.
