Checking the fuel level sensor «G» (Audi Q5-8R)

Remove 1/3 of the rear seat on the right. Unscrew the bolts "arrows" and remove the cover "1" of the locking flange. Disconnect the plug "1" from the flange. To do this, move the stopper "1" upwards "arrow A" and press the release button inward "arrow B". Connect a multimeter to check the resistance between contacts "2" and "3". Fuel level sensor "G" is installed: sensor on the lower stop: approx. 285 Ohm, sensor on the upper stop: approx. 60 Ohm.



If the measured value is 0 Ohm, then there is a short circuit; if it is equal to infinity ohms, there is an open circuit. To check the resistance values "Tank full" or "Tank empty", remove the fuel delivery module and move the sensor float to the upper or lower limit. With the fuel level sensor removed, the following values are obtained as a result of a greater deflection of the float. Fuel level sensor "G" removed: sensor at the lower stop: approx. 285 ohms, sensor at the upper stop: approx. 53 ohms. Connect a multimeter to check the resistance between contacts "3" and "4". Fuel level sensor "G" installed or removed: in any position of the sensor: approx. 340 ohms. Installation is in the reverse order, while observing the following. Install the flange cover. Install 1/3 of the rear seat on the right.
