Intermediate shaft (Audi A6 C4)

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt and intermediate shaft sprocket.



2. Measure the free play of the shaft. Replace the shaft if necessary.



3. Remove the shaft flange and take out the seal and the O-ring. To do this, loosen the bolts.



4. Remove the intermediate shaft flange.





5. Remove the oil seal.



6. Remove the sealing ring.

7. Remove the shaft and inspect it for wear or damage. Replace the shaft if necessary.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
