Oil pump and oil intake pipe (Audi A6 C4)

Removal

1. Remove the oil pan.



2. Remove the oil intake pipe.



3. Remove the sealing ring.



4. Remove the oil pump bolts.



5. Remove the oil pump.



6. Remove the pump cover.

Examination

1. Inspect the pump parts for wear and damage.



2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the gears.



3. Using a feeler gauge, measure the axial clearance of the pump between the plane of the gears and the plane of the casing.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the pump cover bolts.
