Oil filter (4-cylinder models)
The oil filter is located on the left side of the engine.
Changing the oil and oil filter regularly is one of the most important steps to extend the life of your vehicle.
Order of execution
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Loosen the drain plug about half a turn. Install the oil collection container and unscrew the plug completely.
3. Wait for the oil to drain, moving the container forward if necessary.
4. Wipe off the plug and replace the sealing washer if necessary. Wipe the area around the drain hole and tighten the plug to the correct torque.
5. Install an oil collecting container under the oil filter.
6. Using an oil filter removal tool, if necessary, loosen the filter.
7. Unscrew the filter by hand
8. Clean the filter installation site. Lubricate the O-ring of the new filter with oil and install it on the engine. Screw the filter securely by hand.
9. Unscrew the filler cap.
10. Remove the dipstick to check the oil level.
11. Fill with the correct type of oil.
12. Start the engine and check for oil leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
Warning: On models with a turbocharger, do not increase the engine speed until the oil pressure warning light goes out!
