Help with cooling system problems (Audi A4 B5)

Malfunction	Its reasons	Your help
A. The temperature indicator arrow is deflected to the limit to the right, the red signal light is flashing	1. Only with four-cylinder engine: V-belt is stretched or torn 2. There is not enough coolant in the cooling system 3. The temperature indicator wire is closed to "ground" 4. The thermostat does not open the flow of cold liquid from the radiator (radiator cold) 5. The radiator fan does not turn on 6. The high pressure safety valve in the shut-off cap is faulty 7. The indicator voltage stabilizer is faulty 8. Radiator fins are clogged	Replace the V-belt Top up Disconnect the temperature sensor wire, the arrow should return to its original position position and red light go out, otherwise-short circuit to "ground"; check the wire along its entire length Remove the thermostat and continue driving without it or have it towed automobile Check the cover, replace if necessary Replace Clean the radiator fins
IN. Slow response of temperature indicator, weak heating power	The thermostat does not close completely, the coolant is too hot leaks early through the radiator	Clean the thermostat, replace if necessary
