Order of execution
1. Oil temperature sensor: Disconnect the wire from the sensor (for mounting position see next section), apply to the mass.
2. If the arrow of the tool does not deviate, then the defect is in the lead wire, microprocessor or the device itself.
3. Otherwise, the cause is in the sensor.
4. Voltmeter: check the voltage at the voltmeter connectors with the combined instrument panel disassembled (plug connected).
5. If there is voltage, but there is no indication, then the device is faulty.
Mounting position of the oil temperature sensor
Four-cylinder engine: The sensor is located on the oil filter flange on the left side of the engine. Wire color: blue/white.
Six-cylinder engine: The oil temperature sensor is located at the bottom left of the front of the engine. Due to its inaccessibility, the wires to the sensor are combined into one plug connector at the rear on the left cylinder head. Plug-in wire colors: black/brown from oil temperature sensor to connector; blue/white from connector to combined instrument panel. Other connector wires: white/grey to oil pressure switch.
In a four-cylinder engine, the sensor (1) oil temperature indicator and oil pressure sensor (2) are located on the oil filter flange on the left side of the engine.
