Starting the engine from an external battery (Audi 80 B2)

If your own battery is deeply discharged, it is possible to start the engine from another car's battery. In this case, proceed as follows:

make sure both batteries are 12V and have approximately the same capacity;
using wires of a sufficiently large cross-section with crocodile clips on the ends, connect the "+" terminal of the discharged battery with one wire to the plus of the external battery, and the "-" terminal of the external battery with another wire to the ground of the engine being started;
start the engine of the "donor" car;
after this, proceed to start the engine of the car with a discharged battery;
after starting the engine, disconnect the wires in the exact reverse order of connection.
