1. Unscrew the bolt (1 in the illustration) and remove the air duct to the rear left footwell.

2. Remove the rear seat guide cover. Release the rear fasteners (1 in the illustration) lids in the direction of the arrow.

3. Remove the front cover under the driver's seat (see paragraph 3 of Section 10). Pry off the plugs (1 and 3 in the illustration) in the floor covering, loosen both nuts (4) of the seat bracket and lift the bracket (2).

Move the driver's seat wiring harness aside.

4. While tilting the driver's seat, slide it forward together with the bracket. Press the locking tabs (1 in illustration 11.2) and remove the battery cover (2). Connect the backup power source.

5. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery (2 in the illustration) and the positive wire (3).

Disconnect the exhaust hose (1), unscrew the stud (4) with the retaining plate, unscrew the bolt (5) and remove the upper retaining plate (6). Lift the battery from the holder.

6. Insert the battery into the holder so that the strip at its base fits into the flanges of the holder (arrows in the illustration).

After this, the battery should not move.

7. Further installation is carried out in reverse order. Connect the positive wire first, then the negative wire. Fastener tightening forces are specified in Specifications.
